The Puebla American School Foundation ( es, Fundación Colegio Americano de Puebla) is a private school serving students in kindergarten through grade 12 in Puebla, Mexico. The school offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma and the local BUAP (Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) for the upper school. For elementary and middle school students, the IB Primary Years and Middle Years Programme are offered. BUAP
The Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) (Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla) is the oldest and largest university in Puebla, Mexico. Founded on 15 April 1578 as Colegio del Espíritu Santo, the school was sponsored by the Society of Jesus during most of the Spanish colonial era before turning into a public college in 1825 and eventually into a public university in 1937. The religious origins can be seen in many of BUAP's buildings in Puebla city centre, which were once colonial-era churches. The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is an educational programme managed by the International Baccalaureate (IB) for students in grades Kindergarten to Fifth grade. While the programme prepares students for the IB Middle Years Programme, it is not a prerequisite for it. The subject areas of the PYP are language, social studies, mathematics, science and technology, arts, and personal, social and physical education.
