Marcelo Augusto David (born 31 October 1994), better known as coldzera, is a Brazilian professional '' Counter Strike: Global Offensive'' player for 00 Nation. He was named the best ''CS:GO'' player in both 2016 and 2017 by ''CS:GO'' news website HLTV. Career In August 2015, coldzera was signed by Luminosity Gaming, his first contract. His first tournament for the new team was ESL One Cologne 2015, where he managed to get his team through the group stage to reach the quarterfinals of the tournament. In 2016, they managed to get out of the group stage in every tournament they participated in, bar one, with two finals appearances. However, it was not until April that they were able to win their first tournament: MLG Columbus 2016. Coldzera was selected as the Most Valuable Player for the tournament, making him the first Brazilian win the award at a Major. HLTV, formerly an acronym of Half-Life Television, is a news website and forum which covers professional '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' esports news, tournaments and statistics. It is one of the leading websites within the ''Counter-Strike'' community with over 4 million unique visitors each month. ESL One Cologne 2016, also known as ESL Cologne Major 2016 or Cologne 2016, was an Electronic Sports League Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. It was the ninth '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' Major Championship and was held at the Lanxess Arena In Cologne, Germany from July 8–10. It featured 16 teams from throughout the world competing. Cologne 2016 had the second consecutive major with a prize pool of $1,000,000. The playoffs featured eight teams. ESL One Cologne 2015
ESL One Cologne 2015 was the sixth '' Counter-Strike: Global Offensive'' Major Championship that was held from August 14–18, 2015 at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. It was organized by Electronic Sports League. The Cologne event was the first ESL tournament that required competitors to take drug tests, which all came up negative. The tournament had a total prize pool of US$250,000. The online livestream was viewed by around 27 million viewers with a peak of 1.3 million concurrent viewers. Eight teams were in the playoffs. Fnatic, Luminosity Gaming, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team EnVyUs, Team SoloMid, and Virtus.pro were returning Legends. Luminosity Gaming is a professional esports organization based in North America. As a member of Cloud9, he became the first North American (along with four of his teammates) to win a Valve–sponsored major in CS:GO. Early life Yip was born on January 7, 1998. Raised in San Francisco, California, he picked up '' Counter-Strike'' 1.6 from his older brother, Jason. Yip grew up with his brother and sister. His parents were often on business trips in China. Yip described his parents as "stereotypical Asian parents" who disapproved of video games, wanting him take up a "common" career such as a lawyer or a doctor. His draw towards video games ultimately created a rift between him and his parents, with Yip recalling his mother believing he was going to be a failure.
