Col Du Grand Cucheron
Col du Grand Cucheron, at an elevation of , is a mountain pass in the Alps in the department of Savoie in France. The pass crosses the northern end of the Belledonne massif, connecting the Maurienne and Isère valleys. The climb to the col was used on Stage 12 of the 2012 Tour de France. Cycle racing Details of the climbs From Les Granges (near Le Pontet) (west) the ascent is long. Over this distance, the elevation changes by at an average gradient of 7.8 percent. From La Corbière (near Saint-Pierre-de-Belleville) (east), the climb is long, gaining at an average of 6.9 percent. This will be the direction from which the col is climbed in the 2012 Tour de France. The climb can also be accessed from Aiguebelle (northeast) from where the route is at an average of 5.3 percent, gaining . Valloire (; frp, Valouère, ) is a commune in the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. The ski resort Valloire-Galibier is located in the commune, at the foot of the Col du Télégraphe and next to the ski resort of Valmeinier, (the alps) France. 70% of the Valloire/Valmeinier ski area is above . The 1983 Tour de France was the 70th edition of the Tour de France, run from 1 to 24 July, with 22 stages and a prologue covering a total distance of The race was won by French rider Laurent Fignon. Sean Kelly of Ireland won the points classification, and Lucien Van Impe of Belgium won the mountains classification. Teams The Tour organisation wanted to globalize cycling by having cyclist from the Eastern Bloc in the Tour. Because they only rode as amateurs, the 1983 Tour was also opened for amateur teams. In the end, only the Colombian and Portuguese national amateur teams applied for a place, and the Portuguese team later withdrew. Robert Kišerlovski (born 9 August 1986) is a Croatian former professional road bicycle racer, who competed professionally between 2005 and 2018 for the , , , , , , and squads. Career At the 2011 Paris–Nice, Kišerlovski crashed on a slippery downhill and slid underneath a parked truck, being caught underneath it for several minutes and needing eight stitches. On Stage 14 of the 2012 Tour de France Kišerlovski came off the worst when the road was sabotaged with tacks. Kišerlovski crashed, breaking his collarbone, and was left having to abandon the race. The injury forced him to miss the Summer Olympics in London. Kišerlovski left at the end of the 2012 season, and joined on a two-year contract from the 2013 season onwards.
