Coinage Of Populonia
Coinage of Populonia consists of the coins minted by the city of Populonia and issued from the mid-5th century B.C. until the mid-3rd century B.C., when the city lost its autonomy. The issues of this community fit into the mainstream of Etruscan coinage and constitute one of its main contributions. The coinage of Populonia, like other Etruscan coinage, is included, for traditional reasons, among the Greek coins. Historical context Populonia was an ancient city in Etruria. The remains are now in the municipality of Piombino. It was one of the twelve Etruscan ''lucumones'' and along with Volterra was one of the major mining and metallurgical centers of the Etruscans. According to Pliny and Strabo, reported by Giuseppe Micali, Populonia would have been a colony founded by the Volterrani. Populonia or Populonia Alta ( Etruscan: ''Pupluna'', ''Pufluna'' or ''Fufluna'', all pronounced ''Fufluna''; Latin: ''Populonium'', ''Populonia'', or ''Populonii'') today is a of the ''comune'' of Piombino (Tuscany, central Italy). The obol (, ''obolos'', also ὀβελός (''obelós''), ὀβελλός (''obellós''), ὀδελός (''odelós'').  "nail, metal spit"; ) was a form of ancient Greek currency and weight. The pileus (, ; also or in Latin) was a brimless felt cap worn in Ancient Greece, Etruria, Illyria (especially Pannonia), later also introduced in Ancient Rome. The pileus also appears on Apulian red-figure pottery. The pilos together with the petasos were the most common types of hats in Archaic and Classical era (8th–4th century BC) Greece. Sethlans (mythology)
In Etruscan mythology, Sethlans was the god of fire, the forge, metalworking, and by extension craftsmanship in general, the equivalent, though their names share no etymology, to Greek Hephaestus, Egyptian Ptah and the Roman Vulcan. Sethlans is one of the indigenous Etruscan gods. In Etruscan arts Sethlans may be identified by his tools, the hammer and tongs of the blacksmith, and by the '' pileus'' or conical cap he wears. His association with order and technical skill made him essential to rituals involving material production, such as weapon or tool creation, reflecting the Etruscan reverence for divine precision and manual labor. Corinthian Helmet
The Corinthian helmet originated in ancient Greece and took its name from the city-state of Corinth. It was a helmet made of bronze which in its later styles covered the entire head and neck, with slits for the eyes and mouth. A large curved projection protected the nape of the neck. Out of combat, a Greek hoplite would wear the helmet tipped upward for comfort. Fufluns
In Etruscan religion, Fufluns () or Puphluns () was a god of plant life, happiness, wine, health, and growth in all things. He is mentioned twice among the gods listed in the inscriptions of the Liver of Piacenza, being listed among the 16gods that rule the Etruscan astrological houses.
