Coalville
Coalville is a town in the district of North West Leicestershire in Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England. In 2011, it had a population of 34,575. It lies on the A511 road, A511 between Leicester and Burton upon Trent, close to junction 22 of the M1 motorway where the A511 meets the A50 between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Leicester. It borders the upland area of Charnwood Forest to the east of the town and is situated 5.5 miles from Ashby and 9 miles west-southwest of Loughborough. Coalville is twinned with Romans-sur-Isère in southeastern France. History Coalville is a product of the Industrial Revolution. As its name indicates, it is a former coal mining town and was a centre of the coal-mining district of north Leicestershire. It has been suggested that the name may derive from the name of the house belonging to the founder of Whitwick, Whitwick Colliery: 'Coalville House'. Weston Coyney
Weston Coyney is a suburb of the City of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire. It lies on the south eastern edge of the city and borders the neighbouring Staffordshire Moorlands district. Originally developed around a crossroads the area now also includes two major estates, ''Park Hall'' – developed in the 1970s, and ''Coalville'' – a 1950s estate built for the National Coal Board (NCB) to house many of its miners. Weston Coyney is almost entirely a residential area with little industry and most of the residents work elsewhere in the city. History Weston Coyney is identified in the Domesday Book as a manor called ''Westone'' or West Town in lands belonging to Robert de Stafford and held by Ernulf de Hesding. The land was recorded as being mostly woodland but with enough arable land to require three ploughs. Coalville, Iowa
Coalville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Webster County, Iowa, United States. The population was 651 at the 2020 census. The community is located on U.S. Route 20 near Fort Dodge's gypsum mines. History Coalville takes its name from the coal mines of the area. It began as one of the northernmost coal mining towns in Iowa. Early settlers were mining coal from outcrops along the Des Moines River by 1860, and in 1870, a mine was opened on Holiday Creek, approximately one mile east of Coalville, with a three-mile tramway to the Dubuque and Sioux City Railroad (later the Illinois Central). Later in 1870, a shaft was sunk at Coalville. The Fort Dodge Coal company took over these mines and opened several more in the Coalville area. By 1880, manual labor was being augmented with machinery in these mines. In 1883, the Fort Dodge Coal company employed 350 miners to produce 30 carloads of coal daily. Coalville is a city in and the county seat of Summit County, Utah, Summit County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Salt Lake City, Utah Salt Lake City metropolitan area, Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,486 as of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census. Interstate 80 in Utah, Interstate 80 passes through the town, as well as the Weber River, which flows into Echo Reservoir, just north of Coalville. History Coalville originally began as a settlement known as Chalk Creek. In 1856, Mormon Church president Brigham Young awarded hundreds of acres of farmland to trailblazer and trusted bodyguard "Return" Jackson Redden. Redden first visited the valley around 1846 while scouting trail ahead of advance Mormon pioneers. The first recorded settlement was Redden's ranch, spanning from 100 N.
