Cities In Pennsylvania
There are 56 municipalities classified as cities in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Each City (Pennsylvania), city is further classified based on population, with Philadelphia being of the first class, Pittsburgh of the second class, Scranton of the second class A, and the remaining 53 cities being of the third class. While the default form of government for third class cities is the Third Class City Code, only 18 cities still use this form of government. The City of Parker, Pennsylvania, Parker is the only city that still operates under a special act, and has a weak mayor-council form of government. All three cities not of the third class, along with 23 third class cities, have adopted Home Rule Municipality (Pennsylvania), home rule charters, which give the cities broader powers to manage their affairs. Arnold, Pennsylvania
Arnold is a city in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of the Greater Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The population was 4,772 at the 2020 census. History Present-day Westmoreland County was part of the hunting reserves of the Iroquois Indians. European colonists began to penetrate the area in the 1750s, and circa 1781 Robert McCrea purchased the land on which Arnold is situated. William Jack acquired the property and later passed it on to Wilson Jack. The area around Arnold was first settled in 1852 by Major Andrew Arnold, who grew up in Kittanning. Carbondale is a city in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, United States. Butler, Pennsylvania
Butler is a city in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States, and its county seat. It is north of Pittsburgh and part of the Greater Pittsburgh region.
