"Circle in the Sand" is a song recorded by American singer Belinda Carlisle for her second studio album, '' Heaven on Earth'' (1987). It was written by Rick Nowels, who also produced it, and Ellen Shipley. "Circle in the Sand" was the third single released from ''Heaven on Earth'' in May 1988. Belinda Jo Carlisle ( ; born August 17, 1958) is an American singer and songwriter. She gained fame as the lead vocalist of the Go-Go's, one of the most successful all-female rock bands of all time, and went on to have a prolific career as a solo artist. Raised in Southern California, Carlisle was the lead vocalist of the Go-Go's, which she co-founded in 1978. Peter Alan Care (born 28 April 1953) is an English director of music videos, commercials and film. He has directed music videos for Cabaret Voltaire, R.E.M., Bruce Springsteen, Roy Orbison, Depeche Mode and New Order, amongst others. Biography Care began his directorial career as a film student at the Sheffield School of Art (in the North of England). Upon graduating, he set up the Sheffield Independent Film Company, with funding from the Arts Council and Channel 4. The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music historian David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. John McCurry (born June 24, 1957) is an American musician, songwriter and composer based in New York City. Picture discs are gramophone record, gramophone (phonograph) records that show images on their playing surface, rather than being of plain black or colored vinyl.
