Cinema Of Norway
Cinema in Norway has a long history, dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, and has an important stance in Cinema of Europe, European cinema, contributing at least 30 feature-length films a year. There have been over 1,050 films made in Norway ever since cinema's first introduction to the country in 1907. Some of these films have been selected for the most prestigious film festivals around the world such as Cannes Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival, and Venice Film Festival. Fourteen Norwegian films have garnered Academy Awards, Academy Award nominations. Two of them won the award: Thor Heyerdahl's Kon-Tiki (1950 film), Kon-Tiki for Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film, Best Documentary Feature Film in 1951 and Torill Kove's The Danish Poet for Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, Best Animated Short Film in 2006. The Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film is an award given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) as part of the annual Academy Awards, or Oscars, since the 5th Academy Awards (with different names), covering the year 1931–32, to the present. From 1932 until 1970, the category was known as Short Subjects, Cartoons; and from 1971 to 1973 as Short Subjects, Animated Films. The present title began with the 46th Awards in 1974. During the first 5 decades of the award's existence, awards were presented to the producers of the shorts. Morten Tyldum
Morten Tyldum (; born 19 May 1967) is a Norwegian film director. He is best known in his native Norway for directing the thriller film '' Headhunters'' (2011), based on the novel by Jo Nesbø, and internationally for directing the historical drama ''The Imitation Game'' (2014), for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director, and the science fiction drama '' Passengers'' (2016). In music, a reprise ( , ; from the verb 'to resume') is the repetition or reiteration of the opening material later in a composition as occurs in the recapitulation of sonata form, though—originally in the 18th century—was simply any repeated section, such as is indicated by beginning and ending repeat signs. A partial or abbreviated reprise is known as a petite reprise ( , ). In Baroque music this usually occurs at the very end of a piece, repeating the final phrase with added ornamentation. ''Oslo, August 31st'' () is a 2011 Norwegian drama film directed by Joachim Trier. It is the second film, along with ''Reprise'' (2006) and '' The Worst Person in the World'' (2021), in Trier's Oslo trilogy. The film is a homage to, and loosely based on Pierre Drieu La Rochelle's novel ''Will O' the Wisp'' (1931) and Louis Malle's feature film '' The Fire Within'' (1963). Leif Sinding (19 November 1895 – 13 May 1985) was a Norwegian film director and journalist. He worked for the newspapers ''Verdens Gang (1868–1923), Verdens Gang'', ''Aftenposten'', and ''Morgenbladet''. Tancred Ibsen
Tancred Ibsen (11 July 1893 – 4 December 1978) was a Norwegian military officer, aviator, film director and screenwriter. Background Ibsen was the son of Sigurd Ibsen and Bergljot Bjørnson. He was the grandson of both Henrik Ibsen and Nobel laureate Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. He married dancer and actress Lillebil Ibsen in 1919, and remained married to her until his death in 1978.
