Cicurina Tianmuensis
''Cicurina'', also called the cave meshweaver, is a genus in the spider family Cicurinidae. It was first described by Anton Menge in 1871. The name is from the Latin root "cucur-", meaning "to tame". Originally placed with the funnel weavers, it was moved to the Dictynidae in 1967, then to the Hahniidae in 2017. In 2023, it was moved to the Cicurinidae. Body size varies widely among the species. Among the smallest is ''C. minorata'', growing less than long. The larger species include ''C. ludoviciana'', some of which have grown to over long. Anton Menge
Franz Anton Menge (15 February 1808 in Arnsberg – 27 January 1880 in Danzig) was a German entomologist. Menge was a student of Physics, Chemistry and Natural history, Natural History at the University of Bonn He became professor at the Petrischule in Danzig. Menge published ''Preussische Spinnen'' or ''Spiders of Prussia'' between 1866 and 1878. His collection of insects and spiders is in the State Natural History Museum in Gdańsk. Cicurina Baronia
''Cicurina baronia'' is a rare species of spider in the family Cicurinidae known by the common name Robber Baron cave meshweaver. The species is endemic to the San Antonio, Texas area of the United States. It is one of nine species deemed the Bexar County Invertebrates, as all nine are found in similar cave environments in the central region of Texas. These species range in size from one millimetre to one centimetre. They are also eyeless or essentially eyeless and pale in coloration. Habitat The Bexar County Invertebrates are troglobites, species which spend their entire lives in subterranean environments, inhabiting karst limestone caves and mesocaverns. Currently, these species have only been found in the karst areas in Bexar county, which were deemed critical habitats to the species in a 2012 ruling.
