The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity (russian: Церковь Троицы Живоначальной or Свято-Троицкая церковь, Троицкий храм) is a Russian Orthodox church in Bataysk, Rostov Oblast, Russia. It was built in 2013 in Russian church architecture style. History In 1854, a five-domed Odigitrievsky Church was built in Bataysk, with the height that is comparable to those of the modern Rostov Cathedral. On the church yard there were two schools, an almshouse, and a refectory. In 1937 this church was destroyed. In the pre-war years, the remains of the church building served as a prison. During the Great Patriotic War, when Bataysk was occupied by Nazi forces, a camp for prisoners of war that was surrounded by barbed wire was established at the site of the destroyed church. The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity (russian: Церковь Троицы Живоначальной or Свято-Троицкая церковь) is a Russian Orthodox church in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Rostov Oblast, Russia. It belongs to Kamenskoe deanery of Shakhty and Millerovo diocese. History The Holy Trinity parish was established in Kamensk-Shakhtinsky in April 1997. In 1998, the parish was granted a building in which a prayer house was arranged. The church itself was opened on July 9, 1998, and has only one altar consecrated in honour of the Holy Trinity. Subsequently, a dome was also built there, and in 2003 a belfry was installed with new bells. Now there are five domes, a refectory and a low bell tower. Building's architecture resembles that of the late 19th century. The Holy Trinity possesses a fragment of the holy relics of St. Tikhon of Zadonsk, who was a Bishop of Voronezh and a wonderworker. The Church of the Life-Giving Trinity () is an Eastern Orthodox church in Jongbaek-dong, Rangrang District in Pyongyang, North Korea. It is the first and only Orthodox church in the country, and one of only a handful of Christian churches there overall. History Kim Jong-il reportedly wanted to construct an Eastern Orthodox church in North Korea after a trip to the Russian Far East in 2002. Kim had visited the St. Innocent of Irkutsk Church in Khabarovsk on 22 August and admired its architecture and Russian Orthodox rites. A Russian diplomat asked Kim Jong-il whether there were any Orthodox believers in Pyongyang, and Kim replied that believers would be found. There were no Eastern Orthodox priests in the country, so the established in 2002 contacted the Russian Orthodox Church.
