Chronicles Of A Dive Bomber
''Chronicles of a Dive Bomber'' (russian: Хроника пикирующего бомбардировщика, Khronika pikiruyuschego bombardirovschika) is a 1967 Soviet war film directed by Naum Birman based on the novel of the same name by Vladimir Kunin about the everyday life of frontline aviation during the Great Patriotic War. Plot The Great Patriotic War is taking place but it is quiet at the front airfield of the bombers — there is fog, therefore the planes are stationary. The command poses the task of finding and photographing an enemy airfield on which Focke-Wulf fighters are based. The crew of a young but experienced junior lieutenant Chervonenko flies to the task. Before flying out he learns from the report of the Soviet Information Bureau that his native town of Pinsk has been liberated. Naum Borisovich Birman (russian: Нау́м Бори́сович Би́рман; 1924—1989) was a Soviet director of theater and cinema, screenwriter. Cavalier of the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1986). He worked as an actor and director in the Leningrad theaters, director of the productions of Arkady Raikin. He was buried at the Memorial Cemetery in Komarovo near Leningrad. Pyotr Ivanovich Shcherbakov (russian: Пётр Ива́нович Щербако́в; 21 July 1929 – March 16, 1992) was a Soviet film and theater actor. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1980). Member of the CPSU since 1955. Biography Born July 21, 1929, in the village of Pozdnyakovo (now Kaluga Oblast). After World War II, the family moved to Moscow. In Theatre Institute Pyotr Shcherbakov was quite by accident. Since that year in GITIS was set only at the Directing Department, Pyotr took directly to the second year of the institute, which he graduated in 1955. At the same time he had while studying to pass exams in the subjects of the first course. Pyotr served in the Theatre Group of Soviet Forces in Germany (1953-1956), Sovremennik Theatre (1958-1985), Moscow Art Theatre (1985-1991). He made his debut in cinema in 1956. Nikolay Nikolaevich Trofimov (russian: Никола́й Никола́евич Трофи́мов; January 21, 1920, Sevastopol — November 7, 2005, St. Petersburg) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. People's Artist of the USSR (1990). Biography Nikolay Trofimov was born into a working-class family. Stage career began in 1934. During the Great Patriotic War he served in the navy. On the stage Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater played more than 40 roles. In the cinema, Nikolai Trofimov played mostly small roles. Nikolay Nikolaevich Trofimov died on the night of November 7, 2005 in the St. Petersburg Alexandrovsky hospital from the consequences of a stroke.
