Christopher Dawes (born 26 February 1961) is a British journalist and author. He works as a music journalist using the pseudonym Push. As Push, he wrote for the weekly music paper ''Melody Maker'' for 10 years. He was also the editor of the seminal London music magazine '' The Buzz'' from 1987 until its demise. He left Melody Maker in 1995 to become the founding editor of the clubbing magazine ''Muzik'', before becoming the editor of the male lifestyle title '' Mondo'' in 1999. After several years as a book author, he returned to magazine publishing in 2012 as the editor of the specialist electronic music magazine ''Electronic Sound''. Dawes was responsible for nurturing and guiding some of the brightest talent of the day, many of whom went on to further success in the music industry. Chris Dawes (Jamaican Footballer)
Christopher Dawes (born 31 May 1974) is a retired Jamaican footballer. He was known to be very disciplined, a good passer of the ball and a tight man-marker. Club career Nicknamed 'Simba', Dawes has played as a defender or midfielder, starting his career at Jamaican club Galaxy F.C. and having a brief spell at Belgian Fourth Division club SVD Handzame in 1996. In 2001, he signed for MLS club MetroStars only to be traded to Colorado Rapids for a 2002 draft pick. Dawes returned to Jamaica in 2002 joining May Pen based club Hazard United and had a brief stint with Village United before returning to the previous club, now relocated and called Portmore United. He retired in 2006 to become a coach. International career He also played for the Jamaica national football team and was a participant at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Chris Dawes (born 16 May 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Collingwood Football Club and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early career Raised in the bayside suburbs, Dawes attended Brighton Grammar and played junior football at the Hampton Rovers Football Club. He is the son of a history lecturer turned antiquarian bookshop owner and is studying law at Victoria University in Melbourne (but with only passing interest in practising it). AFL career Dawes was drafted by Collingwood with the 28th selection in the 2006 AFL draft from Sandringham Dragons in the TAC Cup, having attended Brighton Grammar School. He is a strongly built forward who missed the majority of 2007 due to a knee injury after playing well for the Magpies' then VFL-affiliate, Williamstown.
