Christopher Browne (director)
Christopher Browne, also known as Chris Browne, is an American documentary film maker/director. He is noted for directing the sports documentaries that "shed light on the oddballs and underdogs of the sporting world." Early life Browne is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. While there, he was a varsity squash player and a member of St. Anthony Hall. Career Browne's film career began in New York City as a production assistant on television commercials. He then took a job on a documentary called ''The Paris Review…Early Chapters'' (2001) produced by Checkerboard Films. The movie, which chronicled George Plimpton's early years at the ''Paris Review'', offered the opportunity to work alongside legendary documentarian Albert Maysles. Christopher Kelly Browne (May 16, 1952 – February 5, 2023) was an American comic strip artist and cartoonist. He was the son of cartoonist Dik Browne and brother of cartoonist Chance Browne. From 1989 to 2023, Browne wrote and drew the comic strip ''Hägar the Horrible'', which is distributed by King Features Syndicate. Life and career Born in South Orange, New Jersey, on May 16, 1952, and growing up in suburban Wilton, Connecticut, Browne assisted his father on the comic strips ''Hi and Lois'' and ''Hägar the Horrible''. He contributed to ''Hägar'' from the beginning of the comic in 1972 and co-authored ''Hägar the Horrible's Very Nearly Complete Viking Handbook'' in 1985. When Dik Browne died in 1989, Chris Browne continued the strip, both writing and drawing, while Chance Browne took over ''Hi and Lois.'' Stamford was a constituency in the county of Lincolnshire of the House of Commons for the Parliament of England to 1706 then of the Parliament of Great Britain from 1707 to 1800 and of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1801 to 1918. It was represented by two Members of Parliament until 1868 when this was reduced to one. Boundaries The parliamentary borough was based upon the town of Stamford in the Parts of Kesteven (a traditional sub-division of the county of Lincolnshire). ''The Walk'' is a 2015 American 3D film, 3D Biographical film, biographical drama film directed by Robert Zemeckis and written by him and Christopher Browne (screenwriter), Christopher Browne.. It is based on the story of 24-year-old French people, French high-wire artist Philippe Petit's walk between the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center (1973–2001), World Trade Center on August 7, 1974. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Petit, alongside Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, James Badge Dale, Ben Schwartz, and Steve Valentine. The film was released by TriStar Pictures on September 30, 2015 in the United States in IMAX 3D, and on October 9 in regular 2D and 3D film, 3D.
