Christiane Hofmann
Christiane Hofmann (born 12 December 1968) is a German former professional tennis player. Born in Munich, Hofmann reached a best singles ranking of 170 in the world on the professional tour, winning two ITF titles. She played in the qualifying draws of the French Open, at Wimbledon and the US Open. Réka Szikszay (born 3 August 1965) is a former professional tennis player from Hungary. Biography Szikszay represented Hungary at the 1986 Goodwill Games and played Fed Cup tennis for her country from 1986 to 1990. She appeared in a total of 13 ties and finished with a 14-9 overall win–loss record. Most effective in doubles, she was unbeaten in the five matches she partnered Andrea Temesvári in and lost only two of her 13 doubles fixtures. She competed for a year on the WTA Tour, with her best performance coming at the 1989 Vitosha New Otani Open in Sofia, where she made the second round of the singles and was a doubles semifinalist, partnering Michaela Frimmelová. Virág Csurgó (born 10 November 1972) is a retired Hungarian tennis player. Csurgó won six singles and 17 doubles titles on the ITF Circuit in her career. On 20 November 1995, she reached her best singles ranking of world No. 160. On 21 September 1998, she peaked at No. 84 in the WTA doubles rankings. Katarzyna Nowak (born 13 January 1969) is a former professional tennis player from Poland. Biography Professional tour Nowak, who comes from Łódź, turned professional at the age of 19. On the WTA Tour, her best performance was a semifinal appearance at the 1995 Barcelona Open. Soon after, she beat Kimberly Po and Meredith McGrath to make the third round of the 1995 French Open, then months later reached her career-high ranking of 47 in the world. Choi Young-ja (born 30 May 1975) is a former professional tennis player from South Korea. Biography A right-handed player from Seoul, Choi began playing tennis at the age of 10. She won her first ITF tournament at Bangkok in 1993 and began touring professionally after graduating from high school in 1994. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta she made the second round of the singles competition, with a win over South Africa's Joannette Kruger, before she was eliminated by 11th seed Brenda Schultz-McCarthy of the Netherlands. María Alejandra Vento-Kabchi (born 24 May 1974) is a former female tennis player from Venezuela. In July 2004, she reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 26. She won four WTA titles in doubles. Vento-Kabchi reached the fourth round of the US Open in 2005, where she was heavily defeated by the eventual champion, Kim Clijsters. Vento-Kabchi likened the defeat to being "run over by a truck". The ITF Women's World Tennis Tour, previously known as the ITF Women's Circuit, is a series of professional tennis tournaments run by the International Tennis Federation for female professional tennis players. History It serves as a developmental circuit for the WTA Tour, which is run by the independent Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
