Christopher Dwayne Tomlin (born May 4, 1972) is an American contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, and worship leader from Grand Saline, Texas, United States, who has sold over 7 million records. He is a member of Passion Conferences and is signed to EMI's sixstepsrecords. ''Holy Roar'' is the twelfth studio album by Chris Tomlin. It was released on October 26, 2018, along with a book titled ''Holy Roar: 7 Words That Will Change the Way You Worship'', co-written with his minister Darren Whitehead, and a Spotify-exclusive "Holy Roar Podcast". The title comes from that idea that "our God is as faithful as the rising sun" and is the "Light of the World". The album was originally released in two versions: one with 11 tracks, the other with 4 alternate versions of his songs (including acoustic and demo versions) and a special behind-the-scenes look at the recording of the album. Passion Conferences (also referred to as Passion and the 268 Generation, originally named Choice Ministries) is a Christian organization founded by Louie Giglio in 1997. The organization is known for its annual gatherings of young adults between the ages of 18–25, more specifically college students. The organization is also responsible for sixstepsrecords, the worship band Passion, and the megachurch Passion City Church, which serves as the organization’s headquarters.
