Chris Kennedy (Colorado Politician)
Chris deGruy Kennedy is a Democratic member of the Colorado House of Representatives. He represents house district 30, which includes the Jefferson County communities of Lakewood and Edgewater. Prior to reapportionment implemented in 2023, he represented the 23rd district, which covered a portion of Jefferson County. He was first elected to the state house in 2016, succeeding Max Tyler. A Lakewood resident, Kennedy attended the University of Colorado Boulder and was an engineer before he entered politics. He has served as Democratic chairman of Jefferson County and ran U.S. Representative Ed Perlmutter's 2014 reelection campaign. In his first term, Kennedy served on the House Finance Committee and the House Health, Insurance, and Environment Committee. In the 72nd General Assembly, Kennedy was elected as the Assistant Majority Leader and serves as Chair of the State, Veterans, & Military Affairs Committee. Chris Kennedy (born September 14, 1963) is an American former professional tennis player. Kennedy, who was raised in Cary, North Carolina, was a state champion in junior tennis and a two-time All-American at Trinity University in Texas. He reached the round of 16 at the NCAA singles championships as a senior in 1985. Professional tour In the late 1980s he played on the professional tennis tour, earning career high rankings of 301 in singles and 144 in doubles, with main draw appearances at the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open. Kennedy qualified for his only grand slam singles main draw at the 1988 Australian Open, where he was beaten in the first round by 11th seed Peter Lundgren. Christopher Kennedy is a British music editor, photographer, and sculptor, who worked mainly in the United States. He is known for his music editing work on feature films.
