Chris Beard
Christopher Michael Beard (born February 18, 1973) is an American basketball coach who is the head men's coach at University of Mississippi ( Ole Miss). He also previously served as head coach at Texas, Texas Tech, Little Rock, Angelo State, and McMurry. Beard graduated from high school from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas. He was a manager at Texas under former Longhorns coach Tom Penders, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. He received a Masters of Education from Abilene Christian University where he served as a graduate assistant in 1998. Under Beard's watch, the Texas Tech Red Raiders made the deepest NCAA Tournament runs in school history. In 2019, the Red Raiders won a school-record 31 games on the way to the 2019 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Game against the Virginia Cavaliers. Chris Beard is a Canadian business leader, and former CEO of the Mozilla Corporation. In January 1998, he co-founded The Puffin Group in Ottawa, Canada, which was acquired by Linuxcare less than two years later. Since then, Beard has mostly worked in senior product and marketing roles in a range of companies, including HP, Cluster File Systems, Inc. (acquired by Sun Microsystems) and Mozilla. He joined Mozilla in 2004, specifically to launch the Firefox browser but also having responsibilities for other areas of the organisation, including product, marketing, innovation, communications, community and user engagement at different times during his nine years there. Prior to his appointment as CEO he most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer. In July 2013 he joined Greylock Partners as an executive in residence, though remaining an advisor to Mitchell Baker, Mozilla's Chair. Chris Beard (singer)
Chris Beard (born August 29, 1957) is an American electric blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. He has released five albums to date, the first of which was nominated for a Blues Music Award. He is dubbed 'Prince of the Blues'. Life and career Beard was born in Rochester, New York, United States, the son of Joe Beard, a local blues musician. Inspired by Buddy Guy and Matt Murphy, Beard quickly graduated from learning to play the guitar to performing with a local rhythm and blues group by his mid-teens. He played alongside his father before forming his own group after his graduation. Beard played in the blues clubs around his home state for almost twenty years. Beard's debut album was ''Barwalkin, issued by JSP in June 1997. Produced by Johnny Rawls, it garnered Beard a nomination for a Blues Music Award for 'Best New Blues Artist'. ''Nightcap'' is a Canadian late-night comedy and variety television series which aired on CBC Television from 1963 to 1967. Premise This series featured satire and music sketches on topical issues in the news and society with regular performers Bonnie Brooks, Jean Christopher (until 1965), Alan Hamel, Vanda King (after 1965), June Sampson and Billy Van. The Rubber Band was the series' musical quintet, featuring Guido Basso who often performed in segments with the other regulars. The series also featured interviews, serious and not, with famous guests as well as a soap opera parody, " Flemingdon Park", "A cesspool of desire in the heart of suburbia", named after a suburban Toronto neighbourhood. Blitzkrieg are an English heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Leicester in 1980. The current line-up consists of Brian Ross (singer), Brian Ross (vocals), Alan Ross (guitar), Liam Ferguson (bass), Matt Graham (drums), and Nick Jennison (guitar). Ross is the only remaining member from the band's founding, and the band are now based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Newcastle.
