Chittagong Boat Club
Chittagong Boat Club is a boat club in the port city of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Since 1986 it has provided several facilities for the elite to enjoy the club facilities as an offshore tourist spot. Location CBC is located on of land beside Bangladesh Marine Academy Jetty at East Patenga. The Bangladesh Navy leased the land from the Chittagong Port Authority. History The club was inaugurated by former Chief of Naval Staff Sultan Ahmed on 8 August in 1990. Sultan Ahmed (Rear Admiral)
Sultan Ahmed was the 4th chief of the Bangladesh Navy, addressed as the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS). He was a gunnery officer aboard a missile frigate in the Pakistan Navy and qualified to be a logistics officer on a submarine. Between 1963 and 1968 he was a submarine warfare officer. At the time of the 1971 War, he was studying in the United States Army Intelligence Center for a joint NATO counter-intelligence training program He was made the Deputy Director General of newly created DGFI under Lieutenant General Ziaur Rahman's supervision. He was a Deputy Martial Law Administrator during the regime of President Hussain Muhammad Ershad and the Minister for Communication and Shipping. Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) is a government agency of Bangladesh responsible for the management, maintenance and governance of the country's major port of Chittagong, located in the city of Chittagong on the Karnaphuli River nine nautical miles from the shore of the Bay of Bengal of the Indian Ocean.
