Chintapalli, Alluri Sitharama Raju District
Chintapalli is a major tourist and historic town and mandal in Alluri Sitharama Raju district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Every year lakhs of tourists from all over the country come here during the winter season. The temperature in this area often falls down to below 8 degrees Celsius. Tourists come here to enjoy the cold winter nights and early morning dews. Daytime can be very warm. Chintapalli is also where the Rampa Rebellion, led by Alluri Sitarama Raju against the British in 1922 got started. Chintapalle Police Station was the first one to be attacked by the Revolutionaries during the freedom struggle. Chintapalli is considered to be the headquarters of the agricultural and commercial crops market. Geography It has an average elevation of 839 meters (2755 feet). Gam Malludora
Gam Malludora (1900–1969) was an Indian politician and tribal leader who served as a Member of Parliament. He was born in Koyyuru mandal of Visakhapatnam district, Andhra Pradesh, India in 1900. He was the younger brother of Gam Gantamdora. Their father was Gam Boggudora. The Gam brothers were close associates of Alluri Sitarama Raju during his tribal fights, attacking the police stations of Krishna Devi Peta, Addateegala and Annavaram and procuring ammunition for their assault missions. However, he took shelter in a house in 1923. During this time, the British arrested him and prosecuted him with the death sentence. On his appeal, the death sentence was changed in 1924 to life imprisonment at Andaman Jail. He was released in 1937 on the perusal of Congress politicians. In this way, he became the only associate of Raju to survive the British assault. Alluri Sitarama Raju (4 July 1897 or 1898 – 7 May 1924) was an Indian revolutionary who waged an armed rebellion against the British Raj, British colonial rule in India. He led the Rampa Rebellion of 1922, Rampa rebellion (1922–1924) which was borne from rising discontent towards British colonial rule in the backdrop of the Non-cooperation movement (1909–22), non-cooperation movement (1920–1922). The Rampa Rebellion of 1922, also known as the Manyam Rebellion, was a tribal uprising led by Alluri Sitarama Raju in Godavari district of Madras Presidency, British India. It began in August 1922 and lasted until the capture and killing of Raju in May 1924.
