Chinju (Jinju) National University of Education () is one of several national universities of education in South Korea. It provides training to many planning on careers in the country's public education system. The campus is located in Jinju City, South Gyeongsang province. The current president is Kim, Sung-gyu (김성규). Academics At the undergraduate level, the course of study is divided between general academics and study specific to teaching. Jinju
Jinju (; ) is a city in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It was the location of the first (1592) and second (1593) Sieges of Jinju by Japanese forces during the Imjin War. The Republic of Korea Air Force Education and Training Command is located in the eastern part of the city. There are cultural-historical tourist attractions in Jinju such as Jinju Fortress, the Jinju National Museum, and the Nam-gang Prehistoric Site Museum. History Jinju was an ancient city of Goryeonggaya in the Gaya Era. ''Gyeongnam Ilbo'' () is a daily Korean-language regional newspaper published in , Jinju, South Korea. The current newspaper claims to be the successor to two previous newspapers that went by the same name. The original was the first ever regional Korean-language newspaper. It was founded on October 15, 1909, although it closed in January 1915. Another newspaper under that name reopened in 1946, but closed in 1980. The current newspaper opened in 1989.
