Chicago Invitational Challenge
The Chicago Invitational Challenge was an annual early-season Division I (NCAA), NCAA Division I college basketball tournament held around Thanksgiving (US), Thanksgiving week. The first offering was during the 2006-07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, 2006–07 season with the last occurring during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season, 2011–12 season. For the format of the tournament, the first two games were hosted at on-campus venues, with the semifinal and final rounds being contested as two distinct four-team brackets (designated as Upper and Lower, with both a championship and consolation game held for each) at a central location. Throughout the duration of the challenge (excluding 2009) the semifinal and final rounds were held at the Sears Centre Arena (currently named Now Arena, NOW® Arena) in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. The 2011–12 UMKC Kangaroos men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri–Kansas City during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. 2009–10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish men's basketball team represented the University of Notre Dame in the 2009–2010 NCAA Division I basketball season. The Fighting Irish were coached by Mike Brey and played their home games at the Edmund P. Joyce Center in Notre Dame, IN. The Fighting Irish are members of the Big East Conference. The 2009–10 Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils basketball team represented Mississippi Valley State University during the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Delta Devils, led by second year head coach Sean Woods, played their home games at Harrison HPER Complex as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Credit Union 1 Arena (previously known as UIC Pavilion) is a multi-purpose arena located at 525 S. Racine Avenue on the Near West Side in Chicago, Illinois. It opened in 1982. Description and history Credit Union 1 Arena is located on the campus of the University of Illinois Chicago. Originally named the UIC Pavilion, it opened in 1982, and was renovated in 2001. 2010–11 Purdue Boilermakers Men's Basketball Team
The 2010–11 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team represented Purdue University. The head coach was Matt Painter, in his sixth season with the Boilers. The team played its home games in Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Indiana, and was a member of the Big Ten Conference. Purdue finished the season 26–8, 14–4 in Big Ten play to finish in second place.
