The ninth season of '' Chicago Fire'', an American drama television series with executive producer Dick Wolf, and producers Derek Haas and Matt Olmstead, was ordered on February 27, 2020, by NBC. The season premiered on November 11, 2020. Derek Haas
Derek Haas (born June 30, 1970) is an American writer and producer. Life and career Derek Haas attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where he earned both his Bachelor of Arts, B.A. and Master of Arts, M.A. in English Literature. He lives in Los Angeles, and has made a name as a screenwriter and co-author of several successful Hollywood (film industry), Hollywood films. In 2008 he published his novel ''The Silver Bear'' about the young Contract killing, contract killer Columbus. The sequel ''Columbus'' was released in 2009, and in 2011, ''Dark Men'' was published to complete the Silver Bear trilogy. His fourth novel, ''The Right Hand'', was released in 2012. Haas was the editing, editor of popcornfiction.com, where he published short stories by different authors. One of his own works, "Shake," was sold to Jerry Bruckheimer, Bruckheimer Films. "My Lucky Day" is the fifth episode of the ninth season of '' Chicago Fire''. It is also the one hundredth and eighty-fourth episode overall. The episode was directed by Reza Tabrizi and written by Michael Gilvary & Andrea Newman & Derek Haas. The episode aired on February 3, 2021, on the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) In the episode two characters, Lieutenant Christopher Hermann and Firefighter Joe Cruz, get trapped in a freight elevator during a building fire and are unable to contact anyone for assistance. It was designed as a bottle episode to cut higher production costs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
