A cherry is the fruit of many plants of the genus ''Prunus'', and is a fleshy drupe (stone fruit). Commercial cherries are obtained from cultivars of several species, such as the sweet ''Prunus avium'' and the sour ''Prunus cerasus''. Cherry Township is a township in Butler County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,106 at the 2010 census. Geography Cherry Township is located in northern Butler County and contains the unincorporated communities of Coaltown, Five Points, Moniteau, Bovard, and Annandale. Slippery Rock Creek flows through the northwestern part of the township. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.04%, is water. Demographics As of the 2000 census, there were 1,053 people, 383 households, and 294 families living in the township. The population density was .
