"Cherry Lips", also known as "Cherry Lips (Go Baby Go!)" is a song written, recorded and produced by alternative rock group Garbage for their third studio album, ''Beautiful Garbage''. It was released in early 2002 by Mushroom Records as second single from the album. In the years since release, "Cherry Lips" has become an enduring track for the band, an alternative rock LGBTQ anthem, and after almost two decades continues to resonate, being used as the home run song of the Milwaukee Brewers and in advertisement campaigns for Microsoft's Surface Go laptop tablets. Garbage is an American Rock music, rock band formed in 1993 in Madison, Wisconsin. Wah-wah Pedal
A wah-wah pedal, or simply wah pedal, is a type of effects pedal designed for electric guitar that alters the timbre of the input signal to create a distinctive sound, mimicking the human voice saying the onomatopoeic name "wah-wah". The pedal sweeps a band-pass filter up and down in frequency to create a spectral glide. The wah-wah effect originated in the 1920s, with trumpet or trombone players finding they could produce an expressive crying tone by moving a mute in, and out of the instrument's bell. Steve Marker
Steven W. Marker (born March 16, 1959) is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer, best known as the co–founder and guitarist of the alternative rock band Garbage. Previously an audio engineer for the band Fire Town with future Garbage members Duke Erikson and Butch Vig, Marker was responsible for the sourcing of lead singer Shirley Manson for Garbage, following the music video for " Suffocate Me" from Manson's band Angelfish being broadcast during an episode of MTV's ''120 Minutes''.
