Chaos Computer Club
The Chaos Computer Club (CCC) is Europe's largest association of Hacker (computer security), hackers with 7,700 registered members. Founded in 1981, the association is incorporated as an ''eingetragener Verein'' in Germany, with local chapters (called ''Erfa-Kreise'') in various cities in Germany and the surrounding countries, particularly where there are German-speaking communities. Since 1985, some chapters in Switzerland have organized an independent sister association called the (CCC-CH) instead. The CCC describes itself as "a galactic community of life forms, independent of age, sex, race or societal orientation, which strives across borders for freedom of information…". In general, the CCC advocates more transparency in government, freedom of information, and the human rights, human right to communication. Chaos Esports Club
Chaos Esports Club is an American esports organization. Originally founded as Digital Chaos in 2015, the organization is best known for their ''Dota 2'' team's Cinderella run at The International 2016 tournament, where they finished as the runner-up. In April 2017, the organization announced the departure of founding member and owner Shannon "SUNSfan" Scotten. Congress Center Hamburg
Congress Center Hamburg (CCH; formerly Congress Centrum Hamburg) is a convention center in Hamburg, Germany, located right next to Planten un Blomen, near the Hamburg Dammtor station. It opened on 14 April 1973 as the first of its kind in Germany. Since then, it has undergone multiple expansions and renovations, including a complete overhaul in 2017. In addition to conventions, it also hosts concerts, and has attracted artists such as Queen (band), Queen and ABBA. It has an attached hotel, the Radisson Blu Hotel Hamburg. Andy Müller-Maguhn
Andy Müller-Maguhn (born 3 October 1971) is a member of the German hacker association Chaos Computer Club (CCC). Having been a member since 1986, he was appointed as a spokesman for the club in 1990, and later served on its board until 2012. He runs a company that develops cryptophones. In an election in Autumn 2000, he was voted in as an at-large director of ICANN, which made him jointly responsible with 18 other directors for the worldwide development of guidelines and the decision of structural questions for the Internet structure. In 1995, Müller-Maguhn founded the "Datenreisebüro" ('Data Travel Agency'), based in a Berlin office since 2002. In 2005 and 2006, Müller-Maguhn was involved on the side of the parents of the deceased hacker Boris Floricic, better known as Tron, in the case where they sought to prevent German Wikipedia from disclosing his true name, although the name had appeared in many press accounts by that point in time. Tim Pritlove
Tim Pritlove (full name: Tim Francis Pritlove; born 25 November 1967 in Gehrden, Germany) is a British/German podcaster, media artist and Discordian. He lives and works in Berlin. In 1988, Pritlove began studying computer science at the University of Hildesheim but dropped out later that same year. Before and after his studies, he worked as a programmer using microprocessors such as the RCA 1802 and MOS Technology 6502, as well as platforms like the Commodore 64, programming in languages such as C and BASIC. From 1998 to 2005, he was the main organizer of the Chaos Communication Congress and the Chaos Communication Camps. c-base e.V. is a non-profit association located in Berlin, Germany. Its purpose is to increase knowledge and skills pertaining to computer software, hardware and data networks. The association is engaged in numerous related activities. For example, the society has had stands at large festivals, such as Children's Day, where they introduce young people to topics like robotics and computer-aided design. The Gulaschprogrammiernacht (; GPN) is an annual hacker convention in Karlsruhe, Germany. It is organized by since 2002. History The first GPN took place in the basement of the Gewerbehof in Karlsruhe. After the young Entropia e.V. threatened to run into financial difficulties, the members organized the first Goulash Programming Night between April 12 and 14, 2002. The name of the event is to be taken literally: During these three days, several dozen young people programmed and ate goulash, mostly at night.
