Chantel Jones
Chantel Nicole Jones (born July 20, 1988) is a retired American professional soccer player who works as a goalkeeping coach at Canberra United in the W-League. She previously played as a goalkeeper for the professional Icelandic team, Þór Akureyri, Washington Spirit and Western New York Flash of the NWSL as well as Perth Glory and Canberra United in the Australian W-League and the Virginia Cavaliers. College She currently holds the NCAA record for most career shutouts, with 47 during her college career at the University of Virginia. Club career In 2012, Jones played for Þór Akureyri in Akureyri, Iceland. She made 18 appearances for the club, starting all games for a total of 1620 minutes. The Washington Spirit is an American professional soccer club based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area that participates in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). It is a continuation of the D.C. United Women of the W-League and continues to field both an amateur WPSL team and a youth team, both under the Spirit name. W-League (Australia)
A-League Women (known as the Liberty A-League for sponsorship reasons), formerly the W-League, is the top-division women's soccer league in Australia. The W-League was established in 2008 by Football Australia (then known as Football Federation Australia) and was originally composed of eight teams of which seven had an affiliation with an existing A-League Men club. As of the 2021–22 season, the league is contested by ten teams. The league, as well as the A-League Men and A-League Youth are administered by the Australian Professional Leagues. The 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup was the 4th edition of the tournament. It was held in Chile between 19 November and 7 December 2008. Sixteen teams, comprising representatives from all six confederations, took part in the final competition, in which Chile had a guaranteed place as the host nation. Perth Glory Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Perth, Western Australia. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues.
