''Champions of Hell'' is a comic book series published by 13 Flames Empire, an independent publisher from British Columbia, Canada. Originally published by Hunter Thompson Unlimited, the company changed its name to 13 Flames Empire in 2006. Champions of Hell is written by Ira Hunter and illustrated by Robin Thompson with covers by Tim Vigil. The comic focuses on events set in 2013, where the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are wreaking havoc upon humanity. The protagonist is Sam Hain who, upon discovery of the ancient sword of Satan Satan, also known as the Devil, is a devilish entity in Abrahamic religions who seduces humans into sin (or falsehood). 13 Flames Empire is an independent comic book publisher based in Victoria, British Columbia founded by Ira Hunter and Robin Thompson in 1999. Overview Originally named Hunter Thompson Unlimited, the company changed its name to 13 Flames Empire in 2006. Ira met Robin Thompson in 1999 through an ad he put in the paper. 13 Flames Empire's titles include '' Champions of Hell'', ''Zombie Jesus'', and ''Undead Inbreds''. 13 Flames Empire's comics target Mature Readers as they contain disturbing, horrifying, obscene, profane, and immoral material; they often have satanic or horror themes. However, they "are tongue in cheek, Evil Dead kind of funny"; Ira says that he has "a pretty sick and twisted, over-the-top sense of humour." Robin Thompson (artist)
Robin Henderson Thompson (5 May 1931 – 14 August 2003) was a rugby union international for Ireland, a former British Lions captain and rugby league player. Robin Thompson won two Ulster Schools Senior Cup medals with RBAI (Royal Belfast Academical Institution) and played for Ulster Schools. He made the Queen's University RFC senior side in his first year in the university and while still only 18, he made his Ulster début. He won his first international cap in the second row as a 20-year-old against France in Paris in December 1951. He was also on the team that defeated France in Paris in January 1952. He played throughout the championship and against New Zealand in 1953-54 and the following season captained Ireland against both France and Wales. He was capped 11 times. He won the Ulster Senior League with Queen's University, the Ulster Senior Cup with Instonians, and also played for London Irish, and the Barbarians. Timothy B. Vigil () is an American Comic book creator, comic book artist known for horror comics, horror works, including the series ''Faust (comics), Faust'', which Vigil co-created with writer David Quinn (writer), David Quinn. The book's main storyline, ''Faust: Love of the Damned'', was adapted by director Brian Yuzna as Faust: Love of the Damned (film), the 2001 film of the same name. Career Vigil was a member of the Rebel Studios crew. In the early 2000s Vigil was commissioned to create artwork for the drum kit used by System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan, an avid comic book collector and vendor. Dolmayan commissioned Vigil to illustrate a scene demons engaged in oral sex for one of the drums in the kit, while the art for the other drums which depicted other characters and scenes, were produced by Simon Bisley, Kevin Eastman, and Arthur Adams (comics), Arthur Adams. Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are figures in the Book of Revelation in the New Testament of the Bible, a piece of apocalypse literature attributed to John of Patmos, and generally regarded as dating from about AD 95. Similar allusions are contained in the Old Testament books of Ezekiel and Zechariah, written about six centuries prior. Though the text only provides a name for the fourth horseman, subsequent commentary often identifies them as personifications of Conquest ( Zelos/ Zelus), War (Ares/Mars), Famine ( Limos/ Fames), and Death ( Thanatos/ Mors or Moros/ Fatum). Satan, also known as the Devil, is a devilish entity in Abrahamic religions who seduces humans into sin (or falsehood). In Judaism, Satan is seen as an agent subservient to God, typically regarded as a metaphor for the '' yetzer hara'', or 'evil inclination'.
