Chain Reaction (game Show)
''Chain Reaction'' is an American television game show created by Bob Stewart, in which players compete to form chains composed of two-word phrases. The show has been revived four times. Bill Cullen hosted the original series on NBC from January 14, 1980 to June 20, 1980. The second version aired on the USA Network from September 29, 1986 to December 27, 1991, and was hosted first by Blake Emmons and later by Geoff Edwards (who also subbed for Cullen for two weeks on the NBC version). A third version aired on Game Show Network from August 1, 2006 to June 9, 2007, hosted by Dylan Lane. A fourth version also on GSN was announced on January 26, 2015, with Vincent Rubino as executive producer and hosted by Mike Catherwood. Forty episodes were ordered for Catherwood's version, which aired from July 16, 2015 to January 29, 2016. Bob Stewart (television Producer)
Bob Stewart (born Isidore L. Steinberg; August 27, 1920 – May 4, 2012) was an American television game show producer. He was active in the TV industry from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. Stewart is known for creating some of the most popular game shows for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. These shows include '' To Tell the Truth'', ''Password'', and '' The Price Is Right.'' His biggest success as an independent producer was the ''Pyramid'' series, starting with ''The $10,000 Pyramid'' in 1973. '' The Price Is Right'' and '' To Tell the Truth'', both created by Stewart, are the only game shows to be seen nationally in either first-run network or syndication airings in the US in every decade from the 1950s onward. ''Hollywood Squares'' (originally ''The Hollywood Squares'', later stylized as ''H2: Hollywood Squares'') is an American game show in which two contestants compete in a game of tic-tac-toe to win cash and prizes. ''High Rollers'' is an American television game show created by Merrill Heatter. Two contestants compete to answer trivia questions and gain control of an oversized set of dice, which they then roll to eliminate the numbers 1 through 9 from a game board in order to win cash and prizes. It is an adaptation of the standard dice game shut the box. ''High Rollers'' debuted on July 1, 1974, as part of NBC's daytime lineup. ''Play the Percentages'' is an American game show hosted by Geoff Edwards which aired in syndication from January 7 to September 12, 1980. Jay Stewart announced for the first six weeks, after which Bob Hilton became the permanent announcer. The game changed format several times over its short run, but all forms involved some variation on asking questions with percentage answers or statistics. Gameplay Couples format Two married couples competed. One contestant from each couple was asked to estimate what percentage of 300 people answered a specific question correctly. Whoever was closest to the actual percentage, high or low, scored the actual percentage points.
