''Chain of Command'' is the eighth studio album by the American power metal band Jag Panzer Jag Panzer is an American power metal band from Colorado Springs, Colorado. History Jag Panzer came together in late 1981, being inspired by the onslaught of the new wave of British heavy metal. The original line-up consisted of Harry Conkl .... The album was recorded in 1987 and went unreleased at the time, yet bootlegged since 1988. It was finally released by Century Media for the first time, with "new" cover art and a remaster job, on June 21, 2004. The label released only 5,000 copies. Five songs have been re-recorded by the band over the years until the long delayed release of the album. Jag Panzer
Jag Panzer is an American power metal band from Colorado Springs, Colorado. History Jag Panzer came together in late 1981, being inspired by the onslaught of the new wave of British heavy metal. The original line-up consisted of Harry Conklin on vocals (later nicknamed the "Tyrant"), Mark Briody, the sole guitarist of the group in its first incarnation, John Tetley (bassist) and Rick Hilyard (drummer). The band was known as Tyrant in its first incarnation, but they soon had to change the name, because another band already existed in California with that name. They saw a poster featuring a German World War II tank, named ''Jagdpanzer'' literally "hunting tank" in German, but actually referring to what in English would be called a tank destroyer, which they decided to name their band after. Power metal is a subgenre of heavy metal combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" (derived from "In the Garden of Eden") is a song recorded by Iron Butterfly, written by bandmember Doug Ingle and released on their 1968 album of the same name. At slightly over 17 minutes, it occupies the entire second side of the album. The lyrics, a love song from the biblical Adam to his mate Eve, are simple and are heard only at the beginning and the end. The middle of the song features a two-and-a-half-minute Ron Bushy drum solo. "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" was Iron Butterfly's only song to reach the top 40, reaching number 30, while the album itself reached number four on the album chart and sold over 30 million copies.
