Chacarilla del Estanque, also known simply as Chacarilla, is a neighbourhood located in the districts of San Borja District, San Borja and Santiago de Surco, in Lima, Peru. An upper class area of both districts, it is located south of the Headquarters of the Peruvian Army and known for its commercial sector, most notably its Caminos del Inca Shopping Centre, shopping centre. History During the Viceroyalty of Peru, Spanish period, the area was an estate where a reservoir was built to water the area, as well as the neighbouring ''haciendas'', known as San Juan and Villa. The water was sourced from the Surco and Ate rivers, and its distribution, through which the estate's owners made a profit, gradually led to its current name. During the 17th century and until their expulsion in 1757, the estate was the property of the Jesuits, already known as ''Chacarilla del Estanque''. Wong () is a supermarket chain in Peru. Known until 2005 as E. Wong, it was started as a small store in 1942 by Chinese Peruvians in a residential area of the Miraflores District in Lima. History and development In 1942, Erasmo Wong Chiang Moreno, a Chinese-Peruvian, opened a store at a corner on the tenth block of 2 de Mayo Avenue, in a residential area in San Isidro, a district of Lima. The family business was succeeded by a store operating under the name of "E. Wong" at an old house at the ''Óvalo Gutiérrez'', a roundabout in Miraflores, which opened in 1982. Juan Francisco Velasco Alvarado (June 16, 1910 – December 24, 1977) was a Peruvian Army general, general who served as the President of Peru after a successful 1968 Peruvian coup d'état, coup d'état against Fernando Belaúnde's presidency in 1968. Caminos del Inca Avenue () is a major avenue that crosses through the district of Santiago de Surco in Lima, Peru. It starts at its intersection with Angamos Avenue, and continues southbound until it reaches Tomás Marsano Avenue.
