The 1Line, formerly Central Link, is a light rail line in Seattle, Washington, United States, and part of Sound Transit's Link light rail system. It serves 23 stations in King and Snohomish counties, traveling between and stations. The line connects Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Shoreline, the University District, Downtown Seattle, the Rainier Valley, and Seattle–Tacoma International Airport. The 1Line carried over 26 million total passengers in 2023, with an average of nearly 80,000 daily passengers on weekdays. It runs for 20 hours per day on weekdays and Saturdays, with headways as low as six minutes during peak hours, and reduced 18-hour service on Sundays and holidays. Trains are composed of three or more cars that each can carry 194 passengers, including 74 in seats, along with wheelchairs and bicycles. SeaTac/Airport station is a light rail Metro station, station in SeaTac, Washington, serving Seattle–Tacoma International Airport. It is on the 1 Line (Sound Transit), 1 Line between Angle Lake station, Angle Lake and Tukwila International Boulevard station, Tukwila International Boulevard stations. The line, part of Sound Transit's Link light rail system, runs north from SeaTac, Washington, SeaTac through the Rainier Valley, Seattle, Rainier Valley to Downtown Seattle and the University of Washington. The station consists of an elevated island platform east of the terminals and parking garage of the airport. SeaTac/Airport station opened on December 19, 2009, several months after the rest of the Central Link stations. 2 Line (Sound Transit)
The 2 Line, also known as the East Link Extension, is a light rail line serving the Eastside region of the Seattle metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Washington. It is part of Sound Transit's Link light rail system and runs for in the cities of Bellevue and Redmond. The line has ten stations between South Bellevue and Downtown Redmond stations and its first section opened on April 27, 2024. Federal Way Downtown Station
Federal Way Downtown station is a future light rail station at the site of the Federal Way Transit Center, a bus station in Federal Way, Washington, United States. The bus station opened in 2006 and has 1,190 parking spaces available in its parking garage and surface lots. It is served by King County Metro, Pierce Transit, and Sound Transit Express buses and is the southern terminus of the RapidRide A Line. The transit center is located adjacent to The Commons at Federal Way shopping mall and Interstate 5, connected via a direct access ramp to its high-occupancy vehicle lanes. The Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel (DSTT), formerly also known as the Metro Bus Tunnel, is a pair of public transit tunnels in Seattle, Washington, United States. The double-track tunnel and its four stations serve Link light rail trains on the 1 Line as it travels through Downtown Seattle. It runs west under Pine Street from 9th Avenue to 3rd Avenue, and south under 3rd Avenue to South Jackson Street. 1 Line trains continue north from the tunnel to Lynnwood City Center and south through the Rainier Valley past Seattle–Tacoma International Airport to Angle Lake station as part of Sound Transit's light rail network. Proof-of-payment (POP) or proof-of-fare (POF) is an honor-based fare collection system used on many public transportation systems. Instead of checking each passenger as they enter a fare control zone, passengers are required to carry a paper ticket, transit pass, transit smartcard — or open payment methods such as contactless credit or debit cards (if applicable) — after swiping or tapping on smart card readers, to prove that they have paid the valid fare. The ORCA card (standing for One Regional Card for All) is a contactless smart card, contactless, Stored-value card, stored-value smart card system for public transit in the Puget Sound region of Washington (state), Washington, United States.
