The family was known as the Maranzano crime family until its founder Salvatore Maranzano was murdered in 1931. Anthony "Old Man" Spero (February 18, 1929 – September 29, 2008) was an Italian-American mobster who rose to the position of consigliere and acting boss of the Bonanno crime family. Angela Joyce "Big Ang" Raiola (June 30, 1960 – February 18, 2016) was an American reality television personality. She was the niece of Salvatore "Sally Dogs" Lombardi (1941–2009), a caporegime ("capo") and drug dealer in the Genovese crime family. Raiola dated gangsters and lived an opulent lifestyle. Costabile "Gus" Farace, Jr. (June 21, 1960 – November 17, 1989) was an Italian American criminal and mobster, an associate of the Bonanno crime family.
