Celebrate The Nun
Celebrate the Nun was a German synth-pop band founded by H.P. Baxxter, Rick J. Jordan, Britt Maxime (sister of H.P.) and Slin Tompson (Nils Enghusen, formerly with The P.O.X.) in 1986; members of the band would eventually form Scooter (band), Scooter. Biography The band released its first album ''Meanwhile (Celebrate The Nun Album), Meanwhile'' in 1989. Their debut single "Ordinary Town" became a minor hit. However, their second single "Will You Be There (Celebrate The Nun song), Will You Be There" reached number five on the Billboard_charts#Dance, ''Billboard'' Dance Play chart on 23 June 1990. Their third single "She's a Secretary" peaked at number twelve on 8 December on the same chart. Slin Tompson left the band in 1990 to start a solo project. In 1991, the band released its second album ''Continuous (Celebrate The Nun Album), Continuous'', but this was less successful due to a decline in the popularity of synthpop. Garbsen
Garbsen () is a town in the district of Hanover, in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Leine, approximately northwest of Hanover. The name Garbsen can be traced back to 1223. Today's 13 city districts have partly developed independently until the city of Garbsen was formed within its current boundaries during the regional reform in 1974. In the course of industrialization and especially after the Second World War, the population of Garbsen and its predecessor municipalities increased significantly. ''Under the Radar Over the Top'' is the fourteenth studio album by German hard dance group Scooter. The album was released in Germany on 2 October 2009, preceded by the single " J'adore Hardcore" on 14 August. A second single, " Ti sento", was released on the same day as the album. The album was released in the UK on 23 November 2009. The third single " The Sound Above My Hair" was released on 27 November 2009., and " Stuck on Replay", the 4th single from the album is being used as the official theme song of 2010 IIHF World Championship. The album's cover was photographed at the former American NSA espionage site Teufelsberg in Berlin. The title comes from Alexis Petridis' '' Guardian'' article about the group's unexpected UK success in 2008. The album's release was supported by a German tour in March 2010. The Chameleons
The Chameleons are an English rock band formed in Middleton, Greater Manchester, in 1981. The band's classic line-up consisted of bassist and vocalist Mark Burgess (now known as Vox), guitarists Reg Smithies and Dave Fielding, and drummer John Lever. The band released their debut studio album, '' Script of the Bridge'', in 1983. They followed it with '' What Does Anything Mean? Basically'' and '' Strange Times'' in 1985 and 1986, respectively, before abruptly breaking up in 1987 due to internal tensions and the sudden death of the band's manager. After the break-up, Burgess and Lever formed the Sun and the Moon, while Fielding and Smithies formed the Reegs. Burgess also had a short solo career with backing band the Sons of God. New Wave Music
New wave is a music genre that encompasses pop music, pop-oriented styles from the 1970s through the 1980s. It is considered a lighter and more melodic "broadening of Punk subculture, punk culture". It was originally used as a catch-all for the various styles of music that emerged after punk rock.
