Cathedrals (album)
''Cathedrals'' is the fourth major studio album from Christian pop-rock band Tenth Avenue North. Reunion Records, a label of Provident Label Group, released the project on November 10, 2014. Tenth Avenue North worked with producer John Fields in the creation of this album. Critical reception ''Cathedrals'' received positive reviews from critics. Indicating in a nine out of ten review for Cross Rhythms, Matthew Cordle mentions, "In summary, a great set of songs that build on past work and delivers a strong message from one of the best bands currently working in CCM." Sarah Fine, writing in a four and a half star review for New Release Tuesday, realizes, "This is a worthy effort by an incredible band seeking to say honest things." Tenth Avenue North
Tenth Avenue North is an American contemporary Christian music band from West Palm Beach, Florida. The band released a total of fifteen original music projects, including eight full-length studio albums (six of which reached the Billboard 200, including one which reached the top 10) and multiple RIAA gold singles. The group was formed while its founding members attended Palm Beach Atlantic University, taking its name from an east-west road in Palm Beach County. During its period of prominence, the band comprised Mike Donehey as the lead singer, Jason Jamison as the drummer, Jeff Owen as the guitarist, Ruben Juarez as the bassist, and Brendon Shirley as the keyboardist. In February 2020, they announced an amicable end to the band and that their upcoming tour would be their last, as the members wanted to spend more time with their families and pursue other career paths. Jesu Dulcis Memoria
''Jesu dulcis memoria'' is a Christian hymn often attributed to Saint Bernard of Clairvaux. The name can refer either to the entire poem, which, depending on the manuscript, ranges from forty-two to fifty-three stanzas, or only the first part. The hymn inspired other variants, such as the "De nomine Iesu." Three sections of it are used as hymns in the Liturgy of the Hours of the Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus: "Iesu dulcis memoria" (Vespers), "Iesu rex admirabilis" (Matins), "Iesu decus angelicum" (Lauds). Several English hymns sung today are based on translations of ''Jesu dulcis memoria''. These include "Jesus, Thou Joy of Loving Hearts" (1858 translation by Ray Palmer) and "Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee" (1849 translation by Edward Caswall). Howie Weinberg
Howie Weinberg is an American audio mastering engineer. Over the course of his career, he has received over 2,257 mastering credits, three TEC Awards, 21 Grammy Awards, two Juno Awards, and one Mercury Prize. Career Weinberg mastered Herbie Hancock's 1983 album ''Future Shock''. Other mastering works include the Beastie Boys' '' Licensed to Ill'' and Nirvana's ''Nevermind''. Weinberg began working in the mail room at Masterdisk in 1977, delivering recording tapes in New York City. Mastering engineer Bob Ludwig acted as his mentor. In January 2011, he left Masterdisk to set up his own mastering company in Los Angeles, Howie Weinberg Mastering, which appeared in ''Voyage LA''s "Most Inspiring Stories" on February 11, 2021. Kanene Pipkin
The Lone Bellow is an American musical group from Brooklyn, New York City. History The Lone Bellow began as a songwriting project for Zach Williams, whose wife had suffered temporary paralysis following a horseback riding accident. During his wife's recovery, Williams coped with the experience by writing in a journal. At the urging of his friends, Williams learned how to play the guitar and turned his journal entries into songs. Following his wife's recovery, the couple moved to New York City. Previously, Williams had been performing as a solo act around Brooklyn and New York City, occasionally being backed by a hired band. Williams recalls when The Lone Bellow's guitarist and old friend, Brian Elmquist met at Dizzy's Diner in Park Slope. Stu G
Stuart David Garrard (born 6 July 1963) better known by his stage name Stu G, is an English vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. He was one third of US-based Christian contemporary music band One Sonic Society, and is writing and recording as a solo artist. He served as the lead guitarist, backing vocalist, and secondary songwriter for the rock band Delirious? from 1994 until 2009. His song writing credits for the band include "Come Like You Promise", "Metamorphis", and "Pursuit of Happiness". His most famous work is probably "Majesty (Here I Am)" (written with Delirious? lead singer Martin Smith). Stu G has also produced his own solo material, and released his first album in 1995. Hammond B3 Organ
The Hammond organ is an electric organ invented by Laurens Hammond and John M. Hanert, first manufactured in 1935. Multiple models have been produced, most of which use sliding #Drawbars, drawbars to vary sounds. Until 1975, sound was created from rotating a metal tonewheel near an electromagnetic pickup, and Power amplifier, amplifying the electric signal into a speaker enclosure, speaker cabinet. The organ is commonly used with the Leslie speaker. Around two million Hammond organs have been manufactured. The organ was originally marketed by the Hammond Organ Company to Church (building), churches as a lower-cost alternative to the wind-driven pipe organ, or instead of a piano. Michael Morgan Donehey (born September 30, 1980) is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist primarily known for his work in the contemporary Christian band Tenth Avenue North. After amicably disbanding in 2021, the band reformed with two new members in 2023 with Mike Donehey returning as lead singer. He is also a solo artist and has authored the books ''Finding God's Life for My Will'' and ''Grace in the Gray: A More Loving Way to Disagree'' and hosts the "Chasing the Beauty" podcast. Cross Rhythms is a Christian media organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It operates an FM and online radio station, produces radio shows sent internationally, and its website has resources about contemporary Christian music.
