Castano Primo (; lmo, label= Milanese, Càstan) is a city and ''comune'' in Province of Milan, in the Italian region Lombardy, located about northwest of Milan. Castano Primo borders the following municipalities: Lonate Pozzolo, Vanzaghello, Magnago, Nosate, Buscate, Cameri, Turbigo, Robecchetto con Induno, Cuggiono. It received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on October 11, 1984. History Castano was initially a Roman village that subsequently came under the Burgaria of Parabiago. It was converted to a military fortress by the Counts of Biandrate, passing eventually to the House of Visconti. During internal struggles within the House of Visconti, Castano was pillaged. The fortress was rebuilt in the 14th century and ownership passed to the Archbishop. Various periods of struggle and domination by the Visconti followed until, in 1447, Castano came under the control of the House of Sforza who gave it as fiefdom to a family favourite. Daniel Castano
Daniel Alexander Castano (born September 17, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Miami Marlins organization. He made his MLB debut in 2020. Amateur career Castano attended Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas. During his senior year, he posted a 6–3 record with a 1.03 ERA over innings over 11 appearances. He was also named District MVP along with Team MVP. After graduating from Lake Travis, Castano enrolled at Baylor University where he played three years of college baseball for the Baylor Bears. In 2015, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Chatham Anglers of the Cape Cod Baseball League. In 2016, his junior year, he pitched to a 4–5 record with a 4.64 ERA in 14 games started for Baylor. Ernesto Castano
Ernesto Castano (; born 2 May 1939) is an Italian former professional footballer who played as a defender. Throughout his club career he played for Legnano, Triestina, and Juventus, winning domestic titles at the latter club. At international level, he was a member of the Italy national team that won UEFA Euro 1968. Club career Castano was born in Cinisello Balsamo in the Province of Milan. He played club football for three Italian clubs throughout his career: Legnano, Triestina, and most prominently with Juventus, where he won several domestic titles, also serving as the team's captain.
