Casa do Pessoal do Porto do Lobito, commonly known as CPPL, is a multisports club from Lobito, Angola. It's men's basketball team competes at the Angolan Basketball League (also known as Unitel Basket), as well as other local competitions organized by the Angolan Basketball Federation. Other prominent sports in the club are handball and roller hockey. The club is officially the Port of Lobito (in Portuguese: ''Porto do Lobito'') and its full name literally translates as "Lobito Harbour Staff Club". History The CPPL organisation was founded in 1952 by a group of employees of the Port of Lobito with the goal of providing rest and recreation for the port workers. The 2014 Angola 2nd Division Basketball Championship (2nd edition), was a basketball tournament held in Kuito, Bié, Angola, from September 17 to 25, 2014. The tournament, organized by the Angolan Basketball Federation, qualified the two top teams for the 2014–15 BIC Basket and was contested by 4 clubs, that played in a double round robin system followed by the knock-out stages (semis and final). 2022–23 Angolan Basketball League
The 2022–23 Angolan Basketball League, for sponsorship reasons known as the 2022–23 Unitel Basket, was the 45th season of the Angolan Basketball League, the highest premier basketball league in Angola. The season consisted of thirteen teams and began on 21 October 2022 and ended on 19 April 2023 with the conclusion of the finals. The format of the previous season stayed mostly the same. The finals were announced to be changed to a best-of-seven series; however, eventually a best-of-five system was still used. The season consisted of 13 teams and began on 22 December 2021 and ended on 10 May 2022. Petro de Luanda won its 15th national title while also winning the Angolan Cup and Supercup this season. Lobito
Lobito is a municipality in Angola. It is located in Benguela Province, on the Atlantic Coast north of the Catumbela Estuary. The Lobito municipality had a population of 393,079 in 2014.
