Cartoon Network (often abbreviated as CN) is an American cable television channel owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. It is a part of The Cartoon Network, Inc., a division that also has the broadcasting and production activities of Boomerang, Cartoonito, Adult Swim, and Toonami under its purview. Founded by Ted Turner (who appointed Betty Cohen as the first president of the network), the channel was launched on October 1, 1992, and primarily broadcasts animated television series, mostly children's programming, ranging from action to animated comedy. It currently runs from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. ET/ PT on weekdays and 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. ET/PT on weekends. Cartoon Network is a Pakistani cable and satellite television channel operated by Warner Bros. Discovery. It was launched on 2 April 2004, dedicating itself to Pakistani and Bangladeshi viewers. The channel primarily airs animated programming. It is the Pakistani version of the American network of the same name. History Before the launch of the dedicated feed, the Indian feed of Cartoon Network was broadcast in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Cartoon Cartoons is a collective name used by Cartoon Network for their original animated television series originally aired between 1995 and 2003 and produced in majority by Hanna-Barbera and/or Cartoon Network Studios. Beginning with its inception into cable broadcasting on October 1, 1992, Cartoon Network had focused its programming on reruns of older animated series which it had acquired through its parent company's film library.
