Cartoon Network (Italian TV Channel)
Cartoon Network is the Italian version of the U.S. television channel of the same name. The channel, a pay TV channel available on Sky Italia and UPC Switzerland, is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery under its International division, and primarily airs animated series. The channel was originally launched as part of the larger pan-European feed back in September 1993. History Cartoon Network Italian feed started broadcasting on 31 July 1996 on the Italian satellite pay TV platform TELE+ Digitale, and it later began available also on Stream TV's cable and satellite bouquet. Earlier that month, on 1 July, a Cartoon Network-branded programming block premiered on Telemontecarlo's second network, TMC2. On 31 July 2003, it became exclusively available on Sky Italia, born after the two previous pay TV providers merger. On this day, the +1 timeshift channel started broadcasting. Disney Channel was an Italian pay television channel that was owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company Italy. It was launched on 3 October 1998, and its programming consists on the also known as a U.S. channel on the either American, European or locally produced and third party programming acquired by the network. UPC was the largest cable operator in Switzerland with around 1.1 million residential and business customers and was formed in 1994 through the merger of several cable operators. UPC has been a subsidiary of Liberty Global from 2005 until its discontinuation in 2022.
