Johan Martin Jakob Von Tengström
Johan Martin Jakob von Tengström (1821 in Åbo (Turku) – 1890) was a Finnish entomologist. Tengström specialised in Lepidoptera. Tengström visited Java in 1849 where he discovered several new species of Lepidoptera. He made shorter trips within Europe. His collection is held by the Natural History Museum of Helsinki. Moths are a group of insects that includes all members of the order Lepidoptera that are not Butterfly, butterflies. Gelechiidae
The Gelechiidae are a family of moths commonly referred to as twirler moths or gelechiid moths. They are the namesake family of the huge and little-studied Taxonomic rank, superfamily Gelechioidea, and the family's taxonomy (biology), taxonomy has been subject to considerable dispute. These are generally very small moths with narrow, fringed wings. The larvae of most species feed internally on various parts of their host plants, sometimes causing galls. Douglas-fir (''Pseudotsuga'') is a host plant common to many species of the family, particularly of the genus ''Chionodes'', which as a result is more diverse in North America than usual for Gelechioidea.
