Carlton House, Toowoomba
Carlton House is a heritage-listed boarding house at 3 Mill Street, Toowoomba, Queensland, Toowoomba, Toowoomba Region, Queensland, Australia. It was built from to 1900s. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 31 October 1994. History Carlton House, which overlooks the Toowoomba Railway yards to the east, was erected by 1877 for James Augustus Pearson. Carlton House is located on allotment 10, part of the first subdivision of land in Toowoomba, surveyed by JC Burnett in 1849. Allotments 10-12 were purchased in March 1851, by Sydney businessmen Thomas Sutcliffe Mort and Alexander Campbell Brown, and their Toowoomba partner Thomas Ayerst Allotment 10 was acquired by James Taylor in 1862, then by Robert Anthony in 1874. Later in 1874, part of the allotment was acquired by Pearson, recorded in the conveyancing documents as a Toowoomba Storekeeper. Carlton House Block
The Carlton House Block is a historic commercial and retail block at 9-13 Hampden Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. Built in 1873, and updated in the early 20th century, it is a good example of Italianate architecture, built during the downtown's development as an industrial and commercial center. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Description and history The Carlton House Block is located on the northwestern side of Springfield's central business district, on the southeast side of Hampden Street midway between Main Street and East Columbus Avenue. It is a three-story brick building, with a flat roof and Italianate styling. Upper-level windows are set in segmented-arch openings topped by shouldered lintels, and the facade is topped by low parapet added in the early 20th century. Carlton House, sometimes Carlton Palace, was a mansion in Westminster, best known as the town residence of George IV, during the regency era and his time as prince regent, before he took the throne as king. It faced the south side of Pall Mall, and its gardens abutted St James's Park in the St James's district of London. The location of the house, now replaced by Carlton House Terrace, was a main reason for the creation of John Nash's ceremonial route from St James's to Regent's Park via Regent Street, Portland Place and Park Square: Lower Regent Street and Waterloo Place were originally laid out to form the approach to its front entrance. Carlton-Frie-Tucker House
The Carlton-Frie-Tucker House is a historic First Period house in North Andover, Massachusetts. It is a rare example of a period building that was moved and added onto another which had been damaged by fire. The oldest portion of the house, its east side and center chimney, were probably built c. 1709 by Ebenezer Frie. The west side of the house is a second structure that was attached to the first in the 1760s, with some documentary and physical evidence that this was due to a fire destroying the original west side. A leanto section was added to the rear of the house in the 20th century, as was a wing on the northwest corner, connecting the house to its barn. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. Fort Carlton was a Hudson's Bay Company fur trading post from 1795 until 1885. It was located along the North Saskatchewan River not far from Duck Lake, Saskatchewan, Duck Lake, in what is now the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. The fort was rebuilt by the government of Saskatchewan as a feature of a List of protected areas of Saskatchewan#Provincial parks, provincial historic park and can be visited today.
