Carl Webb (20 March 1981 – 21 December 2023) was an Australian professional rugby league footballer who played as a and in the 2000s and 2010s. Webb played for the Brisbane Broncos, North Queensland Cowboys and the Parramatta Eels in the NRL. Webb played for Queensland in the State of Origin series, Australia at international level and also the Indigenous All Stars side. The Toowoomba Clydesdales are a rugby league football club based in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. The Clydesdales originally played in the Queensland Cup from the competition's inception in 1996 until 2006, and were the feeder club for the Brisbane Broncos between 1999 and 2006. 2006 State Of Origin Series
The 2006 State of Origin series was the 25th year that the annual best-of-three series of interstate rugby league football matches between the Queensland and New South Wales representative teams was contested entirely under 'state of origin' selection rules. It was decided in three matches which drew a total attendance of 180,074. Wests Tigers
The Wests Tigers are an Australian professional rugby league football team, based in the Inner West and South West Sydney. They have competed in the National Rugby League since being formed at the end of the 1999 NRL season as a joint-venture club between the Balmain Tigers and the Western Suburbs Magpies. The Wests Tigers started playing in the 2000 NRL season and they won their maiden premiership in 2005. The Melbourne Storm are a rugby league club based in Melbourne, Victoria in Australia that participates in the National Rugby League. The first fully professional rugby league team based in the state, the Storm entered the competition in 1998. 2001 Brisbane Broncos Season
The 2001 Brisbane Broncos season was the fourteenth in the club's history. They competed in the NRL's 2001 Telstra Premiership and finished the regular season in fifth position, going on to play in the finals and coming within one match of the grand final. Season summary As the 2000 season's premiers, the Brisbane Broncos travelled to England in January to contest the 2001 World Club Challenge. The players wore black armbands during the match in memory of the club's co-founder Paul "Porky" Morgan who had died from a heart attack the previous day. Brent Tate made his NRL debut for the Broncos this season. The 2001 NRL season was unusual for the Broncos in that they were unable to string together more than three wins at any time during the season.
