Carbon (2018 Film)
''Carbon'' is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language adventure thriller film written and directed by Venu, starring Fahadh Faasil and Mamta Mohandas. The film follows Sebastian and Sameera on their expedition to find a lost treasure deep inside a forest. K. U. Mohanan was the cinematographer, while Vishal Bhardwaj and Bijibal composed the songs and the score, respectively. Principal photography took place between August and October 2017 in several hilly terrain locations in North Kerala. Carbon was released in India on 19 January 2018 to a positive response from the critics, particularly praising the visuals and Fahadh Faasil's performance. The film won six Kerala State Film Awards, the most awards for any film for that year. Plot Sibi is a young adult who wants to make it big in the quickest possible way. Venu (cinematographer)
Venugopal Pillai (born 26 January 1957), popularly known as Venu, is an Indian cinematographer and film director who works mainly in Malayalam cinema. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and CMS College Kottayam, CMS college Kottayam. He has been the recipient of four National Film Awards, including three for National Film Award for Best Cinematography, Best Cinematography and one Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film of a Director, and four Kerala State Film Awards. He is a founding member of the Indian Society of Cinematographers (ISC). Personal life Venu is the grandson of Malayalam author, Karur Neelakanta Pillai. Kerala State Film Awards
The Kerala State Film Awards are the film awards for a motion picture made in Kerala. The awards started in 1969 by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala and since 1998 the awards have been bestowed by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of the Department of Cultural Affairs. The awardees are decided by an independent jury formed by the academy and the Department of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of Kerala. The jury usually consists of eminent personalities from the film field. Ashokan is an Indian actor known for his roles in Malayalam films. He made his film debut with '' Peruvazhiyambalam'' that won the 1979 National film award for best feature film. Kesavan Venugopal (22 May 1948 – 11 October 2021), better known by his stage name Nedumudi Venu, was an Indian actor and screenwriter from Kerala, who predominantly worked in Malayalam cinema. He acted in more than 500 films, primarily in Malayalam cinema, Malayalam and also in Tamil cinema, Tamil in a career spanning nearly five decades. He wrote screenplays and directed one film.
