The Capivara-Confusões Ecological Corridor ( pt, Corredor Ecológico Capivara-Confusões) is an ecological corridor in the caatinga biome of the state of Piauí in northeast Brazil. Location The Capivara-Confusões Ecological Corridor links the Serra da Capivara National Park to the Serra das Confusões National Park to the west, both in the state of Piauí. It has an area of . It includes the municipalities of São Raimundo Nonato, Canto do Buriti, Tamboril do Piauí, Brejo do Piauí, São Braz do Piauí, Anísio de Abreu, Jurema, Caracol and Guaribas. The Caatinga Ecological Corridor ( pt, Corredor Ecológico da Caatinga) is an ecological corridor in the caatinga biome of northeast Brazil. History The decree creating the Caatinga Ecological Corridor was signed on 28 April 2006 by the Minister of the Environment, Marina Silva. The ordnance was published on 4 May 2006. It was the second officially recognized ecological corridor, the first being the Capivara-Confusões Ecological Corridor, created in March 2006. The corridor covers about of caatinga. It is designed to interconnect eight conservation units and 40 municipalities in the states of Pernambuco, Bahia, Sergipe, Alagoas and Piauí. It excludes urban areas. Maria Osmarina da Silva Vaz de Lima (born 8 February 1958) is a Brazilian politician and environmentalist. She is the founder and former spokeswoman for the Sustainability Network Party (REDE). During her political career, Silva served as a senator of the state of Acre between 1995 and 2011 and Minister of the Environment from 2003 to 2008. She ran for president in 2010, 2014 and 2018.
