Cannonball
A round shot (also called solid shot or simply ball) is a solid spherical projectile without explosive charge, launched from a gun. Its diameter is slightly less than the bore of the barrel from which it is shot. A round shot fired from a large-caliber gun is also called a cannonball. The cast iron cannonball was introduced by French artillery engineers after 1450; it had the capacity to reduce traditional English castle wall fortifications to rubble. French armories would cast a tubular cannon body in a single piece, and cannonballs took the shape of a sphere initially made from stone material. Advances in gunpowder manufacturing soon led the replacement of stone cannonballs with cast iron ones. Round shot was made in early times from dressed stone, referred to as gunstone (Middle English: ''gunneston''), but by the 17th century, from iron. Cannonball (Lea Michele Song)
"Cannonball" is the debut single by American singer Lea Michele. The song was released onto iTunes on December 10, 2013 and made its radio debut on ''Elvis Duran and the Morning Show'' on December 16, 2013. The song was written by Sia, Benny Blanco, Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen and Saud, and was produced by Stargate and Blanco. "Cannonball" received mostly positive reviews from music critics, who praised Michele's vocal delivery. The song peaked at number 75 on the official ''Billboard'' singles chart in the United States and sold 51,000 digital copies in its first week of sale. Theme and composition In an interview with MTV, Michele said that "Cannonball" was the song that helped her cope in the aftermath of her boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith's death, in the summer of 2013. Samuel Zachary "Sam" Guthrie is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Bob McLeod (comics), Bob McLeod, the character First appearance, first appeared in ''Marvel Graphic Novel'' #4 (September 1982). Guthrie belongs to the subspecies of humans called Mutant (Marvel Comics), mutants, who are born with superhuman abilities.
