Cangrejeros De Santurce (basketball)
Cangrejeros de Santurce is the name of several franchises sanctioned by the professional basketball league Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) of Puerto Rico. Named after Santurce, all versions have played out of San Juan. The first franchise was founded in 1918 and began active play in the BSN in 1956, winning titles in 1962 and 1968 before folding. The second iteration of the Cangrejeros played their home games at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum under the ownership of music industry executive Angelo Medina, winning five championships in a six-year span (including four consecutive) and another in 2007. This version remained active for another decade after winning its last championship. In 2021, a new franchise was approved under the name of Cangrejeros under the ownership of artist Bad Bunny and urban music entrepreneurs Noah Assad and Jonathan García. Baloncesto Superior Nacional
The Baloncesto Superior Nacional, abbreviated as BSN, is the first-tier-level professional men's basketball list of basketball leagues, league in Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1929 and is organized by the Puerto Rican Basketball Federation. The Baloncesto Superior Nacional, which is played under FIBA rules of basketball, rules, currently consists of 12 teams, of which the most successful has been the Vaqueros de Bayamón with 16 titles as of 2022. The league has produced players that have distinguished themselves in the National Basketball Association, NBA, EuroLeague, Spain's Liga ACB, ACB, and other tournaments throughout the world. The ''Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot'' ( English: José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum of Puerto Rico) is the largest indoor entertainment and sports arena in Puerto Rico since its inauguration in 2004. Mario Morales Coliseum
Mario "Quijote" Morales Coliseum (Spanish: ''Coliseo Mario Morales'') is an indoor sporting arena that is located in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The coliseum's seating capacity is 5,500 seats. It is the home arena of the Mets de Guaynabo basketball team and the Mets de Guaynabo women's volleyball in the LVSF.The coliseum is also used for boxing, roller derby and musical acts. The coliseum opened in 1983, originally named Mets Pavilion, was renamed in 1998 after Puerto Rican basketball player Mario Morales. Héctor O'Neill
Héctor O'Neill García (born June 20, 1945) is a Puerto Rican politician who served as the mayor of his hometown of Guaynabo from 1993 to 2017. O'Neill is affiliated with the New Progressive Party (PNP) and has also served as a member of the Senate of Puerto Rico. Guaynabo (, ) is a city and municipality on the northeastern coastal plain of Puerto Rico. Jorge Santini Padilla (born March 11, 1960) is a Puerto Rican politician who previously served as the mayor of San Juan. State Service In 1975, Santini became a member of the United States Marines Air Cadets Corps. At present, he is lieutenant colonel in the Puerto Rico State Guard, assigned to the Judge Advocate General's Corps. On September 18, 2002, President George W. Leones De Ponce (basketball)
The Leones de Ponce is a professional basketball team based in Ponce, Puerto Rico, actively participating in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional league (BSN). Founded in 1946, the team has had significant success in the league, earning a total of fourteen championships. This puts them on par with the Atléticos de San Germán and just two titles short of the record held by the Vaqueros de Bayamón. Jeffrey Aubry
Jeffrion L. Aubry (born February 8, 1948) is an American politician from the state of New York. A Democrat, Aubry represented District 35 in the New York State Assembly from 1992 to 2024; his district comprises East Elmhurst, LeFrak City, and parts of Corona, Woodside, Elmhurst and Rego Park, Queens.
