"Can U Dig It?" is a single by British band Pop Will Eat Itself, released in 1989 from the band's second album ''This Is the Day...This Is the Hour...This Is This!'' and it peaked at #38 in the UK Albums Chart, UK Charts. The lyrics include a litany of references to movies, comics, music, and television. The sampling (music), sample in which a male voice is heard yelling "Can you dig it?" several times and the female voice at the beginning of the track saying "Let's get down to it, boppers..." were taken from the cult classic 1979 in film, 1979 U.S. action film ''The Warriors (film), The Warriors''. Pop Will Eat Itself are an English alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Stourbridge in the West Midlands of England with members from Birmingham, Coventry and the Black Country. Initially known as a grebo act, they changed style to incorporate sample-driven indie and industrial rock. Graham Crabb describes their sound as "electronic, punk, alternative hip-hop, hybrid music for fucking, fighting & smoking cigars". Their highest-charting single was the 1993 top-ten hit "Get the Girl! Kill the Baddies!". After initially disbanding in 1996, and having a brief reformation in 2005, they issued their first release in more than five years in 2010. Graham Crabb (born Graham Charles Crabb, 10 October 1964, Streetly, Warwickshire, England), also known as Crabbi, is an English musician, best known for performing in the industrial/dance rock band Pop Will Eat Itself (PWEI). Biography Crabb is a founder member of Pop Will Eat Itself. He and Clint Mansell were the main songwriters. Crabb was also the drummer until the release of ''Box Frenzy'' in 1987, after which he became vocalist and co-frontman with Mansell. He worked with PWEI until 1995, and then formed Golden Claw Musics. Golden Claw Musics Golden Claw Musics was the main musical project of Crabb after he left Pop Will Eat Itself in 1995. In 1993, he remixed Pop Will Eat Itself's "Get the Girl, Kill the Baddies" as a B-side called "Part Man Part Machine", prompting him to release more of his ambient material. Clint Mansell
Clinton Darryl Mansell (; born 7 November 1963) is an English musician, singer, and composer. He served as the lead vocalist of alt-rock band Pop Will Eat Itself. After the band's dissolution, Mansell moved to the United States and embarked on a career as a film score composer. Mansell partnered with American filmmaker Darren Aronofsky and composed the scores for his films '' Pi'', ''Requiem for a Dream'', '' The Fountain'', '' The Wrestler'', ''Black Swan'', and ''Noah''.
