Mustard Plug is an American ska punk band from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Grand Rapids, Michigan, consisting of Dave Kirchgessner (vocals), Brandon Jenison (trumpet), Jim Hofer (trombone), Nate Cohn (drums), Colin Clive (guitar/vocals), Mark Petz (tenor saxophone) and Greg Witulski (bass). Ska punk (also spelled ska-punk) is a fusion genre that mixes ska music and punk rock music. No Idea Records
No Idea Records is an American independent record label based in Gainesville, Florida which focuses on punk rock and its sub-styles and produces both vinyl records and compact discs. No Idea Records started not as a record label, but as a zine in 1985, published independently by Var Thelin and Ken Coffelt and some friends of theirs from high school. By the seventh issue in 1989, Var was running the zine with Sarah Dyer and other contributors and collaborators. Starting with the sixth edition, the No Idea zine included 7-inch records with each issue. The first featured a local Gainesville band called Doldrums, and the second was a split 7-inch, one side of which belonged to later Bay Area legends Crimpshrine, a major influence on the musical style which dominates No Idea to the present. In Black And White (Mustard Plug Album)
''In Black and White'' is the sixth album by Mustard Plug. Background and production On June 29, 2006, a music video was released for "Over the Edge". In October 2006, the band toured the US with labelmates Against All Authority, leading up to an appearance at Riot Fest. On November 8, 2006, "Puddle of Blood" was posted on Mustard Plug's Myspace account. In November and December 2006, they went on the UK leg of the Ska Is Dead tour alongside the Planet Smashers and Bomb the Music Industry!. They closed out the year with four holiday shows in the US Midwest. Following this, the band recorded their next album with producer Bill Stevenson in early 2007. The title is a play on the Cheap Trick record In Color. The album is somewhat darker than Mustard Plug's previous work. MU330 is an American ska punk band from St. Louis, Missouri. Formed by students of St. Louis University High School in 1988, MU330 played a self-described brand of music called "psycho ska", high energy ska punk marked by manic performances and humorous, often strange lyricism. Since 1997, the band's musical direction has changed towards a more melodic and lyric-driven ska/indie rock sound, a combination that has been described as "Weezer meets The Specials". Dan Potthast (guitar/vocals), Ted Moll (drums), Chris Diebold (bass guitar), and Robert Bell (trombone) have remained with MU330 since the band's inception, and the trombonist Gerry Lundquist has been a member for over two decades. AJJ is an American folk punk band from Phoenix, Arizona, originally formed in 2004 as Andrew Jackson Jihad.
