Camogie All Stars
The Camogie All Star Awards are awarded every year to players of the Irish stick and ball team sport of camogie, picked in the 15 traditional positions on the field of play: that is, goalkeeper, three full-backs, three half-backs, two midfields, three half-forwards and three full-forwards. The scheme originated as an independent initiative sponsored by a hotel group, and those picks were made in 2003. The Camogie Association became involved in 2004. O'Neill's are the present title sponsors of the awards. The leading awards winner is Gemma O'Connor of Cork with eleven awards. A prize for Manager of the Year is also given as part of the Camogie All Stars Awards. The reigning 2024 Manager of the Year is Ger Manley of Cork, who led his team to the 2024 All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship. Camogie ( ; ) is an Irish stick-and-ball team sport played by women. Camogie is played by 100,000 women in Ireland and worldwide, largely among Irish communities. Jennifer O’Leary is a camogie player, winner of eight All-Star awards in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 . She won All Ireland medals with Cork in 2002, 2005, 2006 and 2014 and National League medals in 2003, 2006, 2007, when her late point secured victory for Cork, 2012 and 2013. Rena Buckley
Rena Buckley is an Irish sportswoman who played at senior level for both the Cork county ladies' football team and the Cork county camogie team. She has also represented Munster in the Gael Linn Cup and Ireland at international rules. Between 2005 and 2017 she won 18 All-Ireland winners medals - the most All-Ireland senior medals any one person has ever won - making her one of the most decorated sportspeople in Gaelic games. Therese Maher
Therese Maher is a camogie player, and winner of Five All Star awards 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2011 and 2013. She finally got an All-Ireland Medal in 2013 after 16 years when her team defeated Kilkenny in the final 1-09 to 0-07 points. She plays for her club, Athenry. She was also a member of the Galway senior panel that unsuccessfully contested the All Ireland finals of 2010 and 2011 against Wexford. Sinéad Millea
Sinéad Millea (born in Kilkenny) is a former camogie player for Kilkenny, winner of an All-Star award in 2004 and two All Ireland medals. She was honoured by inclusion in the University of Limericks' Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. Family background Her father Joe was a member of the Kilkenny team that won the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 1969.
