Cameo Appearance
A cameo appearance, also called a cameo role and often shortened to just cameo (), is a brief guest appearance of a well-known person or character in a work of the performing arts. These roles are generally small, many of them non-speaking ones, and are commonly either appearances in a work in which they hold some special significance (such as actors from an original movie appearing in its remake) or renowned people making uncredited appearances. Short appearances by celebrities, film directors, politicians, athletes or musicians are common. A crew member of the movie or show playing a minor role can be referred to as a cameo role as well, such as director Alfred Hitchcock who made frequent cameo appearances in his films. Continuous Automated Model EvaluatiOn (CAMEO) is a community-wide project to continuously evaluate the accuracy and reliability of protein structure prediction servers in a fully automated manner. CAMEO is a continuous and fully automated complement to the bi-annual CASP experiment. Currently, CAMEO evaluates predictions for predicted three-dimensional protein structures (3D), ligand binding site predictions in proteins (LB), and model quality estimation tools (QE). Workflow CAMEO performs blind assessment of protein structure prediction techniques based on the weekly releases of newly determined experimental structures by the Protein Databank (PDB). Cameo-Parkway Records was the parent company of Cameo Records and Parkway Records, which were major American Philadelphia-based record labels from 1956 (for Cameo) and 1958 (for Parkway) to 1967. Among the types of music released were doo-wop, dance hits, popular/rock, rockabilly, big band, garage rock, soul and novelty records. Until 1962, Cameo was also the parent company name for both labels, and Parkway was a subsidiary. In 1962, the parent company was renamed from Cameo to Cameo-Parkway, to give both labels equal status. The Cameo Theatre is a historic former movie theater on Broadway in Los Angeles, California. Opened by film mogul W. H. Clune as Clune's Broadway Theatre in 1910, it was one of the first purpose-built movie theaters in the United States. It remained the oldest continually operating movie theater in Los Angeles until its closure in 1991. Alfred Rosenheim designed the building in the Neoclassical style. History Hollywood mogul W. H. Clune opened Clune's Broadway Theatre on October 10, 1910. Opening night rates were advertised at 10 cents for standard seats and 20 cents for loge seats. The Cameo Theater was built in 1936 and is located at 1445 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, Florida. The theater has a long history and was a major venue for punk and hardcore acts beginning in 1985, when Richard Shelter struck a deal with owner Zori Hayon to book shows there. The first show was held in July 1985 and featured Canadian punk band D.O.A.
