''Calytrix platycheiridia'' is a species of flowering plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae and is endemic to a restricted area in the south-west of Western Australia. It is a shrub with egg-shaped leaves and cream-coloured flowers with about 35 to 50 yellow stamens in several rows. Description ''Calytrix platycheiridia'' is a glabrous shrub that typically grows to a height of up to . Its leaves are overlapping to closely spaced, egg-shaped, long and wide and sessile or on a petiole up to long. The flowers are borne on a flattened peduncle long with lobes long. The floral tube is long, wide with eight to ten ribs. The sepals are oblong, long and wide. The petals are cream-coloured with a yellow base, egg-shaped to elliptic, long and wide, and there are about 35 to 50 yellow stamens in two or three rows. Flowering occurs in October. Lyndley Craven
Lyndley Alan Craven (3 September 1945 – 11 July 2014) was a botanist who became the Principal Research Scientist of the Australian National Herbarium. Lyndley ("Lyn") Craven worked for the CSIRO plant taxonomy unit of the New Guinea Survey Group, Division of Land Research and Regional Survey from 1964 to 1967. This was part of a unit that became the Australian National Herbarium, Centre for Australian National Biodiversity Research. Craven's duties included botanical support for land resources surveys. Craven then left to study horticulture at Burnley Horticultural College, Victoria, earning the degree of Diploma of Horticultural Science in 1970 before being briefly employed by the Parks and Gardens Branch of Department of the Interior, Canberra. Part of this department later became the Canberra Botanic Garden and eventually the Australian National Herbarium, Centre for Australian National Biodiversity Research at the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Plants are predominantly photosynthetic eukaryotes of the kingdom Plantae. Watheroo
Watheroo is a small town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. There are 137 residents, according to the . History Land in the area was settled by James Oliver in 1851, the area was surveyed in 1871 and the name Watheroo was charted for the first time. Watheroo is a thriving farming Wheatbelt town, farming livestock and grain. The town was an original station on the Midland Railway Company railway line to Walkaway.
